Joe, we can always count on you to look for the overlooked/underappreciated gems! I've been hearing so many people moaning about the fact that this year is a terrible year so far in movies, but they've been looking in all the wrong places. So glad you recognize such movies as MOTHER & CHILD, PLEASE GIVE and THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT as having merits an containing some exceptional performances.

Thanks, Daryl. I never bought into the propaganda/moan that such-and-such a movie year is terrible. (Ever notice that it's always "this year"?) However, I will admit that some years are better than ever and some are downright outstanding, such as 1962.

Thank you for remembering "City Island," a film which was a delight to discover.
