a fan's notes by joe baltake devoted to movies unknown and mostly misunderstood
"There is no better evidence of Joe's passion than his subject matter, defending and remembering the more obscure titles from cinematic history. No matter how much you think you might know about movies, odds are you will learn of new ones if you check out Joe's site."
--Edward Copeland/On Film"Joe's blog is notable for his crisp, stylish writing and dedication to promoting obscure and lesser-seen films."

REVENGE started out rather so-so, I thought, but boy has it become good, soapy fun the last few weeks. Great twists.
I really like PRIME SUSPECT; a shame it's been cancelled (unless there's been a reprieve I haven't heard about).
My other favorites this past year were LOUIE, BREAKING BAD, JUSTIFIED (even though I'm only a few episodes into the season, playing catch-up), THE HOUR, BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD, SUITS, and the late, lamented (by me) LIGHTS OUT.
Jay! Emily Nussbaum reviwing "Revenge" in The New Yorker writes: "Douglas Sirk for the age of Botox."
