Great moment but, personally, I prefer any scene with Edwin.
What a coincidence that you should mention this. Twenty years ago I saw "Baby Jane" again while shopping at Tower Records. It was playing on video monitors with the sound off, and made a riveting silent film. A month ago I saw the final 40 minutes again, silent, in a bar. I was struck by the "could have been friends" line and even more struck by Davis's silent realization just before that. To me it's one of the great moments of acting, as her face moves slowly across an arc, as the meaning of her life changes completely. Remarkable.
It's like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book
on it or something. A fantastic read. This is wonderful blog. I will definitely be back.
