Alain Delon and Romy Schneider were the "it" couple when movie stars actually gave off some heat - and when their names weren't "cleverly" spliced together by some socially stunted journalist (read: Brangelina).
The affecting Romy passed way too young in 1982 (of cardiac arrest) and Delon has outlived her by 33 years. He was married once - to Nathalie Delon from 1964 to 1969 - but only once. His relationship with Romy both predated his marriage and followed it. She died; he never married again.
Alain Delon turned 80 yesterday. Joyeux Anniversaire!

Lovely, Joe!
Wasn't he handsome! And I loved her.
A bien tot and CHAPEAUX to Delon. Hats off to you for remembering a GREAT actor. Also, there is a whole section of the Movie Museum in Berlin dedicated to Romy Schneider -- (a floor for Dietrich including a ruby and diamond cigarette case Gabin gave her) including the costumes Romy wore when she played Empress Elizabeth from Austro Hungarian empire. Oh, that is some terrific museum.
You wanted to wish Alain (whom I love) a happy birthday. And I also love both Alain and Romy. But, I know your legions of fans (and there are legions) would have been OH SO APPRECIATIVE if you had listed some films that these two beautiful people starred in TOGETHER (or maybe there weren't any). Just a thought . . . .
