about this site, a collection of movie-fed daydreams...
Life is simply one grand excuse to watch movies and then sit around and think about them. While my education was honed by reviewing films for Gannett, Tribune, McClatchy, The News Corporation and Knight-Ridder, my personality - or rather my taste - was shaped largely in my old neighborhood movie theater and on my parents' living room floor. Watching movies. And falling in love with the unacclaimed. Passionately.

Beautiful.
That song has always made me cry, ever since I was a little kid. In this context, it was especially lovely. Thanks for bringing this to us.
What is Jeff Bridges doing in the clip?
Betty Garrett and Larry Parks were very close friends with Lloyd and Dorothy Bridges, who are also in the clip. (That's Dorothy with Betty looking out over the ocean.) I believe that the Parks were Jeff's godparents. Also Larry and Lloyd were both targets of Joe McCarthy during that terrible period in Hollywood.
I always liked Betty Garret on "All in the Family" and "Laverne & Shirley". She was an actress with a memorable presence no matter how big her part was.
