So much so that I have never entertained the thought of somehow giving it a second chance. On the other hand, I was an early and very late appreciator of "It's a Wonderful Life." I watched by myself as a 6 year old on TV and afterward found myself in tears. It was the first time any thing on the tube had so gripped me. It's continued to have a similar affect on me throughout my life, even now as a social security recipient. It's a sacred bond I will always respect.rsmithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01482249081422047680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18439960.post-65224020866404298622017-07-08T11:56:45.450-04:002017-07-08T11:56:45.450-04:00""Love Actually' (2003) is one of th...""Love Actually' (2003) is one of the last films I reviewed professionally and I hold it solely responsible for my leaving a career that so many deluded movie buffs covet. The word "iconic" is now reduced to "selfie" stage. By taking a selfie and putting it on your Facebook page, you immediately become iconic. So everybody is now iconic rather than ironic which is harder to do. It certainly isn't a bad film, just one that I can't embrace as enthusiastically as other people. "Love Actually" is something else. I really did have a visceral reaction to it when it was screened. What can I say? I warned everyone at the outset that acceptable boundaries might be violated here. (BTW, I love "The Magnificent Seven." Big fan. Huge.) -J joe baltakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11467420961490314339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18439960.post-83274611011346332252017-07-06T21:59:28.405-04:002017-07-06T21:59:28.405-04:00I don't know Joe.
